If you haven’t heard the good news yet, God has a plan for your life. One of the main messages the Lord has given me is to encourage people to find their life purpose or destiny.

“Can you not discern this new day of destiny breaking forth around you? The early signs of my purposes and plans are bursting forth. The budding vines of new life are now blooming everywhere. The fragrance of their flowers whispers, ‘There is change in the air.”

Song of Songs 2:13 TPT

I’ve spent a lot of time out on the road, leading outreaches and giving prophetic words to people in public places. I began to notice that many people didn’t know they had a destiny, and they were excited when they found out they do, in fact, have one.

That’s because believing you have a destiny gives you hope!

Think about it. It’s the difference between going through life just winging it and having a map to follow.God is leaving you clues about your destiny all the time—but you have to know how to read the map!

Here are a few clues God leaves for you to follow on your destiny journey.

Destiny Clues in Your Dreams

The Lord loves to speak to you about your destiny through dreams.

“The lovers of God who chase after righteousness will find all their dreams come true: an abundant life drenched with favor and a fountain that overflows with satisfaction.”

Proverbs 21:21 TPT

One of the most common types of destiny dreams is recurring dreams—or even recurring nightmares.

Watch for common themes in your dreams. Do you have a lot of dreams about getting a flat tire? Or maybe your teeth falling out?

Oftentimes if a theme is repeated, it means that the symbols or subject matter in the dream are important! There may be something God wants you to do or something you need to change in your life. It’s a destiny clue!

I had a dream about a family member that kept repeating night after night. I found out that I kept having these dreams because there was something on that side of the family that needed to be fulfilled.

To help you get started, here are a few common dream themes that can give you clues about your destiny:

• Flying: This can represent creativity, indicate you are rising above your circumstances, or even mean that you are maturing spiritually.

• Teeth coming loose or falling out: This is a very common dream and usually means that you are in need of new direction or wisdom.

• A baby or pregnancy: You’re birthing something new in your life! It could be a new job, a gift, an anointing, creativity, or even a clever invention.

My number one suggestion for interpreting dreams is to always ask God first for an interpretation. He knows the answer better than anyone! But these tips will help you understand the clues God is leaving in your dreams about your destiny.

Destiny Clues in the Prophetic

The Lord will use the prophetic to reveal things about your destiny to you. Have you ever received a prophetic word? This is a wonderful way God speaks to his children.

I’ve met some people who have a sour taste in their mouth for the prophetic because they tried to fulfill a prophetic word on their own and it didn’t go according to plan. I want to encourage you to not let negative experiences keep you from seeing your destiny clues in the prophetic!

“I know you are about to arise and show your tender love to Zion. Now is the time, Lord, for your compassion and mercy to be poured out—the appointed time has come for your prophetic promises to be fulfilled!”

Psalm 102:13 TPT

Here are a few things you can do to activate the prophetic words in your life:

1. Begin to pray daily for yourself or your situation.
2. Write down or journal what you are hearing God say.
3. Take communion each day.
4. Quiet yourself and spend time with God.
5. Anoint yourself with oil or anoint your house with oil.
6. Find a couple of people who can pray with you daily, if possible.
7. Ask God to show you what Satan does not want you to see about your situation—and take notes. That is a powerful prayer!

Remember, seasons change. Sometimes what worked in the past won’t work where you’re headed. That doesn’t mean the older season was bad; it just means you’re stepping into someplace new!

Destiny Clues in You

You are God’s ultimate destiny clue for the world. He has a destiny mapped out not only for you, but for the world.

“His destiny-plan for the earth stands sure. His forever-plan remains in place and will never fail.”

Psalm 33:11 TPT

While God leaves you clues about your destiny, you are also a big clue about the destiny of the world!

“So wake up, you living gateways! Lift up your heads, you ageless doors of destiny! Welcome the King of Glory, for he is about to come through you.”

Psalm 24:7 TPT

You are a door of destiny for the King of Glory to come through! If you are unsure about your destiny right now, understand that this is a very big deal. Start here and become a living gateway for God’s love, and everything else will fall into place.

“Then you will discover all that is just, proper, and fair, and be empowered to make the right decisions as you walk into your destiny.”
